ACTEC Fellows Institutes

ACTEC Fellows Institutes provide professional development for law associates interested in advancing their trust and estate education.

ACTEC’s commitment to developing future trust and estate counselors is evident in the creation of the ACTEC Fellows Institutes, which educates attorneys throughout the United States. The Institutes offer a six-day program of intensive trust and estate education over a one-year period for third through sixth-year law associates. Programs are designed to develop the trust and estate profession’s future leaders through a series of in-depth educational presentations.

To attend an ACTEC Fellows Institute, students must be nominated by an ACTEC Fellow from any region. Please use the “Find an Attorney” search on this webpage to find an ACTEC Fellow. For information on nominations, please see the Institutes’ websites below.

Florida Fellows Institute

Florida Fellows Institute (FFI) was formed in March 2015 and educates attorneys in Florida. Florida Fellows coordinate and manage FFI.


Heart of America Fellows Institute

Heart of America Fellows Institute (HOAFI) began 2018 and educates attorneys in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa and Nebraska. ACTEC Fellows from these states coordinate and manage the HOAFI. 


Mid-Atlantic Fellows Institute

The Mid-Atlantic Fellows Institute (MAFI) began in 2018 to educate attorneys from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C., and is managed from ACTEC Fellows in these states.


New England Fellows Institute

The New England Fellows Institute (NEFI) began in 2020, to support attorneys from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont manage NEFI. 


Rocky Mountain Fellows Institute

The Rocky Mountain Fellows Institute was created in 2023 to support attorneys from the states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, and is managed by ACTEC Fellows from these states.


Southeast Fellows Institute

The Southeast Fellows Institute (SEFI) began in 2020 to educate attorneys outside of the FFI and MAFI regions, to serve attorneys in the states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, and is managed by ACTEC Fellows from these states.
