Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Wealth Strategist to build and lead our trust department. This role is critical in establishing our reputation as the preeminent trust company, providing the insight, responsiveness, and dependability that clients seek. As a Wealth Strategist, you will be instrumental in shaping and leading our trust department, ensuring the highest standards of estate planning and administrative trust services. This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced trust professional to contribute to the creation, direction, growth, and success of our company. As a founding member, you will have the potential to take on greater leadership opportunities as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the trust department, aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of trust officers, legal experts, and support staff.
- Establish and communicate departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
- Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, advisors, and organizations.
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional trust and fiduciary services, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of professionalism, trust, and client-centric service.
- Strategic Business Development:
- Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to expand the company’s trust and fiduciary services.
- Foster partnerships and collaborations to enhance the company’s market presence.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Stay current with all applicable fiduciary laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to trust and fiduciary services.
- Ensure the company’s strict compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management:
- Implement a robust risk management program to identify and mitigate potential risks to the company and clients.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a wealth strategist and trust administration is preferred.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with a strategic mindset.
- 10+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of trust laws, financial regulations, tax planning, and legal compliance.
- Sound knowledge of fiduciary risk management and internal controls.
- Juris Doctor (JD) & LLM preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CTFA) are a plus.
